At first, I decided to post this picture on TrekLens website, because of I have already one on TrekEarth, which I took more then 1 year ago from the same place - Bridge to the Cathedral at night (try to compare... what you think?).

The old style pedestrian bridge, called Patriarchy Most (Eng: Patriarch's Bridge), was built at the end of summer 2004 and presently spans the Moscow River between the Cathedral of Christ the Savior and Bersenevskaya Naberezhnaya. The bridge is geometrically tied to the Christ the Savior's Cathedral ensemble. Russian Academy of Arts Professional Artistic Centre of Zurab Tsereteli provided artistic decoration of the bridge. Very impressive illumination, architecture and location of this bridge attracts a lot of tourists as at day as at night.

About the cathedral in brief:
The Cathedral of Christ the Savior is a great monument to Russian military glory and superb example of Russian architecture. It was opened in 1883, in a memory of Russian victory over Napoleon in 1812. This Cathedral had been under construction for about 40 years (1839-1883), but it was destroyed in one day, in December 5th, 1931 - during the Stalin's time, because communists decided to build "Soviet Palace" for their meetings. The Cathedral was recovered during 1995 - 2000. It is considered that the Cathedral of Christ the Savior is the biggest church in Russia and it is the symbol of Orthodox Religion.

PS: Greetings with upcoming New 2007 Year for you!
With BEST Regards,

Опять великолепно!
Но, конечно, Е500 да и накопленный опыт показывают то же самое место но в лучших красках и фокусе.
Спасибо!

I like your night photos around Moscow, I think so far this is my favourite. I can't decide whetherI like the cathedral in the background or the detail in the bridge better!

Thanks also for your very informative notes!
