I think, that here is pretty interesting view on the Kremlin Embankment from Bolshoi Moskvoretsky Most (Eng: Big Moscow-River Bridge) with panorama of the downtown of Moscow city, the heart of Russia. This picture, lets me give it the full name "Moscow Winter Cityscape with a view on the Kremlin Embankment", I took recently, when the temperature was pretty low, about -15..-17 C, and my fingers almost frozen holding my camera.

The traffic here, of course, is bad as usual. Nowadays, each day dozens of thousands of cars moving around the beautiful Kremlin walls and towers, erected by Russian and Italian architects at the end of 15 century. The Moscow Kremlin has about 20 small and big towers and the length of it's walls is about 2.2 km. As stronghold of the city and one of the most fortified fortresses in Europe, all Moscow Kremlin walls were surrounded by the moats and rivers till beginning of 19th century.

On this picture you can see a part of the city from left side of Moskva-Reka (Moscow-River) well-known from Medieval times as "Zamoskvorechje" ( Eng: The over side of Moskva-Reka); Cathedral of Christ the Savoir, which was built at the end of 19th century and became the symbol of Orthodox Religion, it is considered to be the biggest cathedral in Russia; steam from one heating plant in downtown; Ministry of Foreign Affairs of Russia - one of the famous Stalin's skyscrapers (Seven Sisters).

PS: Some of the wires from lampposts on foreground of this picture I decided to remove for better view.

This picture makes me feel cold. I like the soft light and clear sky. Thanks also for your informative note.

I'd love to visit Moscow sometime.

Hi Arthur,
Beautiful view of Moscow. Great composition.
Sunil

A comprehensive sight of Moscow’s downtown! Good exposure; the slight grayish tone enhances the feeling of frost.

Excellent compo and POV, great colors and light. Very nice.

I think in Moscow, the architec must be a lollies/candy/cake's lover... from here I see all the building, they look like chocolate cake with icing and candy floss (smoke). Wonderful captured my dear... Sharp, colourful and good pov, well done, thanks for sharing

Cheers,
Sweety

There is so much to see in this pic Arthur. Those wonderful red buildings on the right - but the gold and white one in the distance is stunning, but the steam from the 2 chimneys rising over the Cathedral of Christ the Saviour caps it all off. The frozen Moskva-Reka and the rows of cars, all come together for a very interesting scene. TFS my friend
