Here is one more picture to my special photo album with Russian Souvenirs. I took this shot occansionly nearby the Resurrection Gates where the entrance to the Red Square from North. Nearby these gates you can find a small flea market where vendors sell souvenirs for tourists. This time I was seduced by these cute music boxes in the shape of the famous St. Basil's cathedral. It was perfect light and colors of these handmade Russian souvenirs were so attractive. Cute churches were not so well arranged and bent as like Pisa Tower on the vendor's tables, and it was pretty hard to make something special because of it were a lot of stuff besides these music boxes… I could not miss it and took several pictures using my telephoto lenses...

Inside the musical box there is a musical winding mechanism, after some winds of the spring you can hear a tune of Russian song "Podmoskovnye Vechera" (Moscow Nights) or other famous melodies, for example, from the ballet of Tchaikovsky "Swan Lake". These musical boxes are entirely hand-crafted from wood, then hand-painted in authentic Palekh or Ghzel styles (Old Russian art schools), then finished with glossy oil lacquer. The tops of the churches are decorated with tiny brass crosses. The average price can vary from 20 to 40 dollars, and depend on the size and quality of painting.

I love St Basils, but the title fooled me here, Arthur:))) Souvenirs are big business throughout the world, as some of them are very popular for the tourists.
Very bright and colourful, TFS
