[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
A section of the almost endless coniferous forests of eastern Russia, somewhere between Severobailask & Tynda, on the Baikal Amur Mainline. (Shot from the open window of the train). The BAM line is about 200 km north of the TransSiberian Rail line. In 1974, Russia & China looked like they may go to war, & the BAM line was built as an auxilliary line in case the Chinese severed the TSR.

I've used a high shutter speed of 1/500th second, or 1/1000 second, to minimize motion blur.

Wonderful colours! I love the depth of the blue here and the trees -- they are a most unusual shade of green - very different from this part of the world

I find this very pleasing, Chris . The blues and greens are lovely. Except for a slight variation in the colour this could have been taken a beaver flood, here. Well except we don’t have the lovely cloud covered mountains. It is hard to believe you were moving when you took this, there is no blur at all. Well done.
