[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Werner recently uploaded a series on historic trains in the US, which jogged my memory on this shot, which I wasn't sure whether to post, or not. In 1974, China & Russia looked dangerously close to an all out war with each other. For much of its length, the Trans Siberian Railway hugs the Chinese border. As a precaution in the event of the rail line being seized or cut by China, Russia built the Baikal Amur Mainline auxilliary rail link, (B.A.M.), approximately 200-480 miles north of the TSR, as a backup supply line, to its naval base at Vladivostok. The maintenance & service centre for the new railway line & trains, was this town, of Tynda. Here, one of the old railway carriages has been split in 2, & converted into someone's residence.

Ciao Chris

New and modern culture of housing.
I even like the color applied to the wagons,
it seems to me all covered with moss green and has
good. Should be interesting to live like this!
Absolutely fantastic, nice composition.
I love your colors and the presentation.
Greetings,

Sergio

Hello Chris,

This is very interesting... an old train converted to home.
Very good point of view and PP work.

Best regards,
Tatjana

Hi Chris,

It's interesting what people will do with old things like this. There are a few folks in the US that have purchased an old airplane fuselage and converted it into a home.

The colors intrigue me here, typically one thinks of trains as being black or silver. They may have painted it to make it look less like a rail car.

As always, your shot is well composed and sharp. Glad I could help jog your memory ;)

Best regards,
Werner

HI Chris
Not exactly what you would call luxurious, but they managed to make a bit of a garden.Looks like the tree obscured their view and got a bit of a chop.
Interesting find and good presentation.
This is one time when leaving in the wires helps to make the shot even more dramatic.
