[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This is another cathedral that was commissioned by Ivan the Terrible and was also built to commemorate his victory over Kazan. It was completed in six years (1555 - 1561) and is situated on the edge of Red Square in Moscow. The cathedral has nine chapels, and each one of them bears the name of a saint. There is a legend about the tsar admiring the beauty of this cathedral so much that he ordered to blind the architect (Postnik Yakovlev) to prevent him from building anything of similar beauty.

I posted the entire cathedral in workshop. That picture was taken during the summer with a much better sky.

Ekaterina,
Pleasant composition with excellent colours and details! Basically I like the cropping, but I wish you didn't touch the blue/white top... Nothing much to do with the grey winter sky, we have the same problem in my place too..!
Regards,
Pablo -

Looks like a castle from a fairy tale or a play one, Katya. Beautiful bright colours against the grey sky. I agree with Pablo that it is a bit too bad that you missed a tiny bit of the blue copola on the right. Otherwise, I like the fact that you chose to only show us a very tiny part of this big cathedral. Well done!

Sorry, I have run out of green smiles!

Hello Ekaterina,

Fantastic colors and shapes you have captured here. How many different shapes can one find here? It keeps me looking. The details are wonderful and very sharp. Thanks so much for the information on the structure.

Peace and Love to you always!
Kevin

In Bucharest we have a Russian Church too, not so coloured, but with the cupolas of tinny gold - I have a picture of that church in one of my first pictures on TL, if you wanna see it:)

Hi Ekaterina

Wonderful color & repetition of geometric patterns shapes & lines. I like the symmetry of the 2 cupolas. Good work!

Amazing, amazing, amazing! The snow on the building adds a wonderful, almost fairy-tale touch! Great coloring, and lighting! I think these types of Cathedrals are just simply beautiful! Great photo!

Biance

Stunning colours, shapes and sizes here, and with snow as well. Great capture. Well done.

SF.

cool! I would love to go to Russia! Seems like a cool place to visit. Good colors and nice composition. I love the snow pattern on the small roof of the little tower. You could almost make it, it's own photo. Nice job.
