[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
My freind at the Singapore Zoo, inviting me in for ???? A snack maybe? I love this guy, he sat prefectly still and never blinked, waiting. After I left and came back quite awhile later, he had only moved a fraction. Now his mouth was open to greet me with a smile!

by the look of the snout and the teeth of this croc (this composition doesn't allow me to identify the specie, but i love it anyway)
i think it's a 'ghariyal' . it's a freshwater crocodile actually from india. can get pretty big upto 15 feet or so.
but you dont need to worry about them gloria, they're only fisheaters and their snouts are very fragile :) they're called "ghariyal" because in india "ghara" means pot in hindi as well as sanskrit, umm pali too i guess and a few other languages. so anyway 'ghariyals' have a bulbous shaped bump on the tip of their jaws which look like 'gharas' so thats how they got their names.
i hope you know what species this was actually. i'm calling it a ghariyal because of the arrangement of the teeth structure ( it's difficult to make out what;'s on the tip of the upper jaw) this one has a long jaw with a long line of teeth and also the third tooth on both the jaws are kind of sticking outwards. they are also relatively thin. for a normal croc, the third upper and lower teeth do stick out but are much closer to the jaw, also the teeth are thicker and jaws a lil broader and shorter than this one
it's definitely a fish eater.
i love crocs
see you :)
and take care
