CHIJMES (pronounced "Chimes") was once the Convent of the Holy Infant Jesus (CHIJ). The chapel, built in the 1903, still stands today. Weddings are still being held at this venue. CHIJ reopened its doors as CHIJMES in 1997 after a S$100 million in restoration

this old church was transformed into chic night spot, It has lush green lawns and clubs / pubs housed in a white old colonial building
there are also boutique style gift shops

words and facts taken from the internet which best describes this old church :)

selective levels adjustment to compsensate for the shadows on the ground
USM
increased saturation to bring out the blue sky
slight crop at the bottom to remove dead space :)

Bonjour,
Excellente exposition pas toujours facile dans ce genre de situation.
Bonne journée.

Aaaahhhh! Extremely nice! I really like your solor saturation and the framing is excellent!
Linda

Sweet POV there BK!
The colors are gorgeous in their saturation and the comp is great.
Wonderful clarity/exposure.
The two branches protruding out towards the roof of the building(left side just above halfway on the pict) I would have cloned out for spatial orientation in my view. I think it would really make some nice space for the sky to exist more freely over the old church along with the framing from the trees. Everything else is nicely placed.

We have a D2X here at work and I am never dissatisfied with the images from this great beast. Although it takes more than just the tools to create a gorgeous image as is the evidence with your wonderful photography skills you bring to us.

Belle photo!
La perspective, mise en évidence par la focale probablement, donne beaucoup de présence à l’édifice.
Les couleurs sont très agréables et la photo est très vivante.
J’aime beaucoup la composition.
Bravo!
Michel.

Awesom composition.
Good work with the harsh lighting conditions too.
Matt

The composition here keeps this picture interesting. My one thought here is that perhaps you could have left slightly more space at the bottom, so that the base of the corner of the wall wouldn't go all the way to the bottom of the picture. Nice photo!

I think this is my favourite of all the "around Singapore" shots you've done.

Shooting at this angle, over the corner of the balustrade, makes the whole scene far more interesting and and dimension and depth to the view. And the trees as natural framing works superbly.

Wow! I remember this place!:) It's a beautiful place specially at night...I have a picture at exactly the same angle...I was standing at the third column to the right :)

Hello,
Excellent photo with natural framing and very good POV. Great perspective with the angle of the fence in the same line as the bell-tower of the church. Colorful image! Bravo! Annie

Looking here I am in awww. What a beauty Koh..The branches in top front is a clever - classic trick I use to do also now and than.. somesort of natural framing and it adds perspective to the shot.
Your photo analysed:
*Very sharp
*good natural colours
*DOF and POV are good

Hi BK,
Great photo with beautiful colors and a perfect POV. I love the way the tree is partially framing the photo. Great job on the exposure and the PP work helped to bring out even more details.
