'A small tree' surely is an understatement. Still in the Singapore Botanical Gardens, I'm now at the Bonsai tree exhibition.

"A Bonsai is not a genetically dwarfed plant. It is any tree or shrub species actively growing but kept small through a combination of pot confinement, and crown and root pruning. Any tree or shrub with the right training and care could become a Bonsai with time, but some plants are more sought-after for use as bonsai material because they have several characteristics that make them appropriate for the smaller design arrangements of Bonsai. "

This little-big tree was a good 35 centimeters high. ;-)

Hi Dennis,
A very good composition and good quality of this picture, fine colours and contrast. Only a pity the top part of th etree is cut of. The frame works perfect here. Funny to know it is a bonsai tree :-)

Hoi Dennis,
I do own 2 bonsais. They must be very strong, else they would be dead already for long now. ;-)
In the photo it seems to be that one is looking at a big tree, but in the same time you know that there is something wrong. I saw immediately that it was a bonsai. I don't know how.
Great capture of these small wonders.
greetings,
Joop!

Hello Dennis, very good POV for that Bonsai. You managed the backlight very well and it is sharp. The little bit of tree that's missing is kinda annoying though. Good work !
