Deep In Thought? Well, maybe :-)

I'd like to think that this was Wee Hannah Banana deep in thought, concentrating on some book or puzzle. However, in reality, she was playing with a toy from a happy meal :-)

I was just sitting, snapping away at the kids and I quite like this one - I think it may be the first profile shot I've posted of either of the kids. I think this captures an element of Hannah's personality...she is a studious wee lassie, obviously gets that from her mother. Here she was trying to piece together some toy after we were really bad parents and got her some chicken nuggets and sweetcorn because she was "really, really hungry, daddy"!

I know there is some softness in parts of the shot, down to the narrow depth of field - but I don't think it bothers me, really. I like the tilt of her head an the fact this has captured a part of her.

This has been added to my weans theme, "weans" being a Scottish term for children :-)

Shot in RAW, converted, changed to b/w some brightness adjustment. No cropping.

Hello Richard. I think this is a nice portrait but I find some soft spots on the image a little distracting. The lips are not in focus however overall the image is nice and clean. The dual colours enhance the character of the moment and subject. The framing and good isolation of the face works very well to give emphasis to the facial features. Nice work and thanks for sharing :-)

Hi Richard

What a lovely candid shot. Nice details and perfect in B&W. I love the little curl against her cheek. She looks like a real sweety! :-)

Excellent portrait Richard, I like your pov here, well captured of her expression and details, great colours tone too, thanks for sharing

cheers,
Sweety

Hi Richard lovely portrait of Hannah. I see what you mean by some softness, but this way the focus is on the upper half of her face - and you can "see" that she is busy - what could be more fun then a happy meal.
Did you add a bit of red and yellow to the B&W?

Hi Richard, I like this portrait very much!
and the shallow dof is great. And you mention a bit soft but they say that for portraits, it is better to have some softness.

Very well done. Love the tones here, they are quite rich.
Great sharpness and definition in the hair and some part of the skin.
You captured a great moment here. And I thought she had just eaten something before I read your note :)

Very well done! Yan :)

Happy meal toys are very important and duly command attention as you demonstrated. Like the use of B&W in this case. TFS

Love this portrait. The softness forces you to look at her eye(s).
Excellent.

Hello Richard,
This is a great portrait and excellent choice for black and white. I dont mind the DOF, there's reat details in her eyes which is the focus to me. Everything else just leads you right there. Excellent composition, very well done here!

Your little tot does look very thoughtful Richard as she ponders over the toy. Her dark eyelashes and eyes show up really well in the B&W tones. Just beautiful
Janice

This is wonderful. I like the captured moment.

You definitely captured the moment, Richard!
Children always play as if they were working, it is a really serious affair... life wants so...
I just find cropping is perfect!

Ciao, Antonella

this is an inspiring photo richard :)

what can i say? this is just beautiful :) i like the fact that this is not cropped :)

with a full frame camera, the photographer, i believe, should try to nail it right the first time, like you did here :)

as long as you get the eyes in focus, a little softness here and there doesn't matter :)

very very well done :)

may Allah bless you and your family :) amen :)
