[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The Illawarra Flame Tree (Brachychiton acerifolius) is one of the world's most beautiful flowering trees.

This tree was standing a bit lonely in the Botanic Gardens in Singapore. In Singapore, the Flame Tree normally never blossoms, since it is confused by the unchanging climate over there.
A dry time of one week did trigger the flowering of the tree, but normally it rarely flowers in Singapore.

And the flowers did not attract bees this time! (Well, also...) But they surely attracted photographers with a lot of expensive equipment!! Is this?? Yes, the Canon 1Ds of roughly 6500 euros...
I think my D200 was the cheapest camera in the crowd...

Hi Dennis,

Hello Dennis, good idea to take another photographer to capture your subject ! :-)

Mario

Hahaha...

The first thing I noticed was that friggin huge camera...than I read your note. I mean, yeah, yeah, color is excellent and composition is good but...damn, look at the size of that thing. My little D40 wounldn't want to come out of it's little bag here!!! It would be scared.

On that note though, it's not the camera. It's the photographer that makes the photo, and I've seen it a million times where the guy with the 6500 euro camera has no idea how to use it (not that I'm saying this about this guy). For some reason, I have a feeling your "little cheap" D200 got one of the better shots that day.

Nice work.
John

Nice capture of a photographer and his nice and expensive equipment in the middle of nature.

Great colours all around, and DOF.
