Still in the Singapore Orchid Gardens, I saw an Indian couple walking in front of me. They looked so happy together and she had a wonderful smile and was dressed in vibrantly blue Indian Kurthi.

I just needed to have a picture of her, so I was strolling a bit behind them in hopes that there would be a photo opportunity popping up.
At one moment, the man turns around and walks towards me. And I was thinking "Hmmm, problems... He might have felt that I was following them...". And he was quite a big guy, so I did start to become slightly worried.
He stops in front of me and says: "Could you take a picture of us?" and he handed me his camera. Phew...

Then I said, "No problems, but I have one request... Can I take a picture of your wife separately, since she has such a beautiful smile and wonderfully vibrant kurthi?".
He was surely proud about his wife and honoured with the request. After the photoshoot we exchanged emails so that I could send him the shots.

She is lovely - and your photo is magnificent. Beautiful saturation and metering, good depth of field, and the bokeh of the background, even sunlit, works very well here.
Perfect composition, good sharpness, good simple frame.
I love it - congratulations to you and compliments to your subject.

YES IT IS INDI SMILE,

THANK YOU FOR SHARING,
REGARDS,
YOGESH

Thats the way you handled 100% correctly.
Often I struggle(d) with the same problem.. a smile .. a schoolboy's innocent look ..and it often works.. like you did here!
Little advice: Next time tell the guy he has such an interesting face..could you make a few of him too..

Now here comes the trick.. sneakely turn of the camera ..
dont let him know..click 20 x on a shutdown system( he thinks its working) and mumble ..great great ..WOW a few times..

Ok..After this I am sure he asks you to pick up his wife the next day and make photo's of her all day long.

You're admiration for this FANTASTIC beautifull woman Dennis ??
Oh yes I do share that .. she is a born Princess.
Your POV and colours-sharpness are of a professional !!

Good weekend my friend

Hello Dennis,
This is a very well done portrait of a beautiful lady!
You capture her personal warmth so well, and I'm sure she will be happy with this!
Greetings,
Pablo -

Hallo Dennis.
Very nice to read the story. hahaha.
Lovely portrait photo of that Indian lady indeed.
The total colours suits her perfect.
Orchid Gardens, yes a lovely place to walk around.
ps. In the time (1996) I was in Singapore, I only did analoge video. So, no much pitures (my wife brought aa easy photocamera, when she visited me)But I made a very nice montage of the video film, lateron at home.
