A slightly older shots, taken in my second photo session with May.

We did a few subway shots - I like subways, I like silhouettes :-) It was great to have a model to work with rather than having to loiter in subways and wait for random characters. Do that back in the UK and you'd be arrested, mugged or have other nasty things done to you :-) Thankfully Singapore is a little safer!

I wanted a slight blur to the silhouette but with the tunnel in focus - hence the f22 and 1/5 combo. A tripod was used.

Shot in RAW, converted to b/w, jpegged, resized, sharpened - I think was cropped.

(oops!! when I looked I thought I had converted to b/w....but the little sliver of daylight shows that aint so! So...no b/w conversion as originally stated!)

ahh yes, a girl could be arrested in Houston for hanging out...or maybe attacked! Not safe! Very nice shots of May here! Really nice and sharp Richard!

Richard

te felicito perspectiva bien lograda y edicion

Definitely a good one, Richard!
I like the strong urbain mood here, due not only to the "underground" setting, but also to the "pose" of your model: dynamic, elegant, mondain.
The play of light and shadow is captivating, with the kind of overexposure on the soil being not disturbing at all: it even enhances the "experience" of leaving a tunnel on a sunny day: you have to blink in order to get used again to the harsh daylight.
Another thing I like in this photo, is that it looks like a black and white picture (I like B&W), even though it isn't.
Highly interesting work!
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Definitely a good shot Richard. I love the lighting and the exposition is excellent. I like the compo too, even if there is some doubt about the POV, I guess, or anyway to the position of y model...mmmhh, yes, I would have put the model on the right side, maybe shifting a bit the POV on the right too, cause on that side there are the lights and so the overall effect is a bit unbalanced IMO. I like it anyway Richard, and it is a great shot.

Nice composition Richard, great curves (on the roof!) and the lighting on the wall to the right is spot on.
TFS,
Neil.

Hi richard

Hi Richard,
This photo looks like a excellent image of a modern BD! A tad surrealistic with a obvious sex appeal attitude.
Excellent composition and use of backlit. Congratulations for your work! Annie

Excellent B&W. Well composed, with attractive patterns created by the bricks, lighting, etc. Excellent eposure.

TFS,
David

Wow ... are you sure May wasn't winding you up? Those hips are 100% woman! (Tell May that's the ultimate compliment.)

Very nice shot, I like the impression of b&w, and the composition here is excellent.

I do suspect it could have been cropped tighter to make best possible use of the lead-in points, as well as giving May the chance to feature even more prominently in the composition, but what you've done here is very eyecacthing.

Hi Richard

It is tricky to shoot in this kind of condition, and you have done a 'special effect' type of shot here, interesting perspective view.

The lines of walls, floor and ceiling are very sharp and forming a pattern. Nice work. TFS

this is not your best Richard
i think we should see a lot more details of the girl or just see a silhouette.. this is in between
also the composition could be better

Good to see another shot of May. It really was a great session.
I really like how the bright bands of white seem to emanate from that bag.... the solidity of the tiles contrast really well with the transient subway walker.
Nice one!
Mike

Hi Richard, This is a stylish composition with a lot of impact. Good shapes, shadows and explanation. TFS. Murray.

Hi Richard, I agree with you, this is very interesting. Nice moving silhouette. She looks natural, not being your model. I like it and good place: tunnel.
I like all the lines of the tiles and the curved rood softening the lines. Good light.
Nice tones.

Well done! Yan :)

I like the composition here -- there is an eerie feeling to it.
But -- about the conversion: is it my imagination or is there some colour at the far end near the top? Is it deliberate?
Just curious
Best regards
RG
