[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Another chimpanzee shot from the Singapore Zoo where I met Richard (Kilted Arab).

I didn't do much to this one and that's why it's difficult to list some useful notes.
This is a similar shot taken just a second or so after my previous chimpanzee posting. it's from the same POV, no, I couldn't clone out the tree that the mother is wrapping her feet around! :)
Anyway, I had a very good (HOT & Humid) day at the zoo with Richard. I have many more shots from that day that I'll post later.

In light of the approaching Valentine's Day, I thought I'd post a photograph that was "kind of tender" and accompany it with some Alan Jackson song lyrics.

A Woman’s Love

I have known it
And I have felt it
I have known a woman's love
And I have tasted
And I have wasted
A woman's love

And I know
I know I'll never understand it
All the little things that make it grand and
A woman's love
And I know
I know I'll never come face to face
With anything that takes the place
Of a woman's love

Well I have kissed it
Tried to resist it
I have missed a woman's love
And I have hated
Taken for granted
A woman's love

And I know
I know I'll never understand it
All the little things that make it grand and
A woman's love
And I know
I know I'll never come face to face
With anything that takes the place
Of a woman's love

Well I have needed
And I have pleaded
And I have lost a woman's love
And I have worshipped
And I have cursed it
A woman's love

And I know
I know I'll never understand it
All the little things that make it grand
A woman's love
And I know
I know I'll never come to face to face
With anything that takes the place
Of a woman's love

And I know
I know I'll never come face to face...

Really a great momment and capture, great color and details. TFS

Hi Scott..very cute shot. Nicely composed.

Roger

Hi Scott
The premise of this is good, it's almost a winner, but for that post!

I've got to be honest here and say that the intimacy and connection we can see in this photograph is dampened by the intrusion of that wooden post; that, and perhaps the splay-legged pose of the infant chimp, which would be equally dubious in a portrait of humans.

I don't know if you did any sharpening to the shot after resizing, but it could've used some; and I would've been tempted to boost the blue channel a little, maybe just +10 or so, to give the colours a little more edge.

A very nice moment captured though, and I'm looking forward to seeing more!

Oh Scott, how sweet this is. Yes, the post does spoil it, but I love the tender look and touch of mama to her babe.
The lyrics of the song go well too,
Janice

Great shot. Very expressive... It would be better for Mother's Day :) but it still does it :)

Have a fun one!

Well seen Scott, a very tender moment for mum and the nipper.
A little over exposed I feel, but they are never easy to get right. I've tried a few times and go the under exposed way, and get no details in the shadows.
So, well done.
Pete.

Hi Scott...
I don't know why everyone is going on about the post...I honestly didn't notice it until I read the other critiques!!!
When you are dealing with animals you can't always choice a perfect setting...you just capture the moment and this is a great one.
I love the intimacy between the mother and her babe. Great capture! TFS,
Fran
