Today we took the kids down to Clarke Quay for a walk and some lunch. This is a great area to pop down to for Sunday Lunch - the fountain area is open air but covered by a huge tented structure, as seen in the photograph just linked.

Around the fountains are several bars/restaurants where you can sit, eat and drink while watching the world go by. Before we had lunch, we let the kids splash about in the fountains - Mrs Arab was very well organised, spare clothes and towels were in her bag :-)

It was a great place to take photos - seeing the spontaneous joy of kids having fun like this really brings a smile to your face. There were quite a few kids running around, having a whale of a time.

Nothing much else to say :-)

Shot in RAW, w/b changed to 'landscape' (seemed to help the colours), jpegged, resized, sharpened.

Hi Bro,
This is perfect shot and perfect timing..
Beautiful...Really!!!..I like it very much..:)
Excellent!!!

Salute,

Hi Rich,

You're like the perfect 5D ad to me. Every single photo you take seems to be pin sharp with nice blur of the out of focus areas.
I mean since you obviously not a better photographer than I am it must be your equipment :D (I hate to have to write it's a joke but you can never be too careful these days)

It's a great shot and I can not help but feel all happy inside when seing this. Can't wait for my daughter to get a bit older so she can be let loose for photo ops like this.

If anything, I might have framed it a bit tighter but then again, it might not have worked.

Great shot!

Hi Richard,
C'est une image très forte. Netteté, couleurs, mouvement, ambiance... Très difficile je suppose de capturer un moment comme celui-là. Bravo en tous cas, c'est magnifique de joie et de fraicheur ;-)

Hi Richard,

what a great shot of a very lively mood. a child and water...something all kids love to play with.

i like the 'frozen' water splashes and as Silke put it - the flying hair - are just great.

Hi Richard,

There is nothing like the pure joy seen on the face of a child. This photo is just priceless. We also have many fountains in the Atlanta area such as this and the kids love it. (some adults too...:D)

I love how you have captured the hair flying, the expression of absolute contentment, and all of the frozen drops of water. I also like the water to the left...

This one will stay with me today! It's a charmer!

How delightful...and what fun, you have captured this beautifully Richard..well done. Love the title.
Cheers

I know I am not supposed to say how beautiful this one is, that I have to give the reasons why I think that. Well, first, my English is not too good, and second, sometimes there are no words to explain some things that are beyond our eyes. Here, besides the good colors, the sharpness and the movement of the water, the happiness of the smiling child, and the body expression, specially in the little hands, are just a few things this photo is talking about. So, even I should not say it: This is an EXCELLENT photo.
I love it.

Lorena

Well ... believe it or not, I think this is a 'photographer's photograph' It's essentially photojournalism of the kind - and quality - that would probably get you a slot in the back page of the newspaper.
It's beautifully sharp, perfectly exposed, excellent bokeh - face it, it's a good shot.
Rew

wow, this is pure joy; congrats !

thanks,
v
ps.Superb atmosphere on the beach.
pps. Li is a bit to centered

Hi Richard,
Love to see this very much...
> Great sharpness of the main subject, your lovely daughter.
> Frozen splash, which was carefully exposed to not OE (I have some kind of 'phobia' shooting water especially outdoor... :D)
> Great bokeh, nice blur.
> And... beautiful girl, which her well organized mother had taken great care of.

What more... it's The 5D + L lens + you, and your photography skills to make this great shot.

Best Regards,
Ramdan

Hi Richard,

Hi Richard
This image captures the joy of the child with excellent photography techniques. The short depth of field with the sharp focus puts all our attention on the subject. Love to see the water drops. Did a workshop not to improve the presentation, but maybe to give it a timeless look. This image as the perfect contrast for the transformation.

Hi, Richard!

Great composition, good scene.

Lovely portrait for her album Richard.

The DOF is spot on , the clarity and colors, and what about her joyful expression . she sure did enjoy the moment .

I bet you did have as much fun capturing all those kids with your daughters playing and running around.

Hi Richard, great action shot of your little girl. What fun for the girls to play in the water fountains. The excitement on her face just shines.
The water has frozen in action so well too.
Cheers
Janice

Hello Richard,
a delightful portrait of your daughter, her expression is so spontaneous.
The droplets of water are suspended in time. The fountain to the side added to the central one gives a real feel for this water feature.
Excellent sharpness,tfs.
Regards Jean.

A truly prize capture, Richard. These are the moments to cherish and celebrate and remember. Nice timing and good control of the shutter and aperture to get this expression and the freezing of the water droplets. There's such joy in this photo; it's great fun. Nicely composed, with the eye drawn right to that happy face. I like the workshop, too, but color seems best for this energy.

Jim

I am sitting back with my coffee on this lovely Sunday morning , enjoying the galleries I missed while away and found this one. You know I am loving it. The movement in the water and her hair is so wonderful and the colour is beautiful. There are even little drops of water captured on her finger tips. Of the two water images I think I like Jess the best, but I would be thrilled to capture one half as good as this.

Wanda

Hi Richard..these are great shots of the young girl and the water...wonderful compositions and expressions...great work.

Hi Richard,
