very nice its a real good photo
That sister hasn't a hope of getting away :) As always I love to see the precious moments you capture of your little dolls. I can almost hear the giggles when I look at this. The bg is very nice and I like the pp work. Hope you have a wonderful Sunday!
What a very special moment captures Richard. Good framing but you where lucky the auto focus focused on them, or was that your doing.
Also good PP work.
Nico
Hi Richard,
Good catch here. The hold one has on the other is just precious. It's true, as dareco said, you *can* almost hear the giggles. I can't help but wonder what set them off, but then, as I recall, one never really does know. ;0)
The tones keep me looking at the girls versus the rest of what's going on and the offset perspective replays how it must have looked to you sitting near them versus just a photo of them.
Nicely done,
TFS,
Wilt

Hi Richard
A priceless moment well captured.
Turning it into sepia a good idea it will give it in a a decade or two that look of yesteryear.
Good shot

Another of your quick action shots of your wee girls Richard. It is so precious.
That squashed hug is sweet, especially how her hat is nearly knocked off too.
BTW, the foot behind the girls is classic - that also makes me smile
Thank you
Janice
Hi Richard,
This is really a very nice capture of these 2 girls. I have 5 daughters so I know these moments can be rare. Your P.O.V. is good and the sepia tone is an excellent choice for this shot. Great job!!

Kevin

I guess a snap is a snap.
As long as you like it the way it is that's fine.
Posted another view in the workshop-a different way of viewing.
Bet you thought I would miss this, Richard? Not a chance. I like how you have aged the shot and how it holds the focus on those two little angels. What a priceless moment to capture for the years to come. I would probably be tempted to do some of my cropping on it, just so the little ones were closer. The foot behind the little ones keeps bugging me. No idea why. So who is to say ? Lovley and precious is my gut reaction.
Warmest Regards
Wanda

I just LOVE this Richard! Really outstanding post, love the two little dolls of yours! Excellent wide angle shot, just leading you right in! The tilt makes the shot SUPER nice, it has more impact!

Well obviously the subject matter here is dear to you and it's a moment that certainly put a smile on my face.
By your own note this is a 'snapshot,' you moved the camera, you snapped the shot, and here it is. Within that context it's well done - they're placed fairly well in the frame and the exposure and brightness overall is well managed.
So - for what it is, it's good. And here's the dilemma: do I judge this based on what it is, or on what it could be? When I think of the magnificent shots you've presented of your girls in the past that are equally spontaneous, I know you can and have captured far better shots than this.
My gut feeling is that the wide angle doesn't suit the subject, particularly in terms of the distortion. I also find there's a conflict between subject - your girls - and context - the crowd - for the viewer's attention. And finally, I find the sepia just doesn't sit with any of it.
Sorry - my own opinion is that this just didn't really hit your usual standard.

I love the simple emotion in this -- very joyful and real.
The sepia conversion is the right touch too -- no distractions from you main subject
