[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
As with my previous shot of Alexis, I think the EXIF data is worth noting here.

Taken handheld at 1/30 with a focal length of 100mm and ISO 1600. No noise reduction applied.

Shot in RAW, slight crop, jpegged, converted to b/w, slight level adjustment, resized and sharpened.

I darkened this shot slightly, I like the mood compared to more brighter versions.

Alexis does have lovely eyes, I hope they stand out in this shot.

Sorry, nothing much else to say, I'm just practicing portraiture - and need all the practice I can get.

Interesting dark portrait, Richard. I think this darkening fits with the model and the general mood conveyed by her look.
However, the right part of the photo, with her bright T-shirt, is quite detracting in my opinion. For a more coherent photo, I would have chosen a square format, cropping the whole T-shirt and just letting part of her ear ring visibile like a "luminous accent" in the overall "darkness".
Just my personal opinion, of course. Feel free to (dis)agree ;o).
TFS & kind regards,
Erik

Bewitching!! Love the comp! I still contend us gals, especially us OLD gals don't like the textures of our skin showing, all the flaws you know! HA! It seems a little dark, but that adds to the mystery here! Love the lips! WOW!

HI Richard,

She is a beautiful woman. I personally would prefer one that is a little brighter. That's just my personal taste. I'm also one for more contrast too.

I'm glad she wore the earring as it adds a little feminine touch. You've done a terrific job with the way she is looking at you!

Keep up the terrific portraits. Lisa

Hi Richard,
I like the darker tones in this portrait. Another nice capture of her expression. Again I really like her eyes and the way you focused on them. Well done Richard.
Regards,
Kevin

Another excellent portrait of this very beautiful lady! She does have incredible eyes and I love the little sparkles. I like the framing and the pose, good expression, very relaxed. Really well done! Have a great day!

A bit brighter and a bit more contrast for me.
Too gray, at least on my monitor

thanks,

I like. It's a beautifully intimate and close portrait and shows her features well. Ironically (considering my last post) I find it a little too dark, there's "moodiness" and then there's glaucoma and I think this wavers towards the latter.
If I had been you, I'd have shifted my aim to the left and put the negative space 'forward' of her face.
As I say though ... I like it.
