A couple of suggestions here ... I've been trying to take a lot of flower photos recently, and have found a couple of techniques which help. Firstly, if the flower is a much lighter colour than the surroundings, try and get the light meter to read from the flower itself, rather than take a general reading (if you have spot metering, this will do it). Secondly, it often helps to crop the photo so that the flower fills most of the frame. I hope these suggestions are useful!

Very nice orchids. I love orchids, the blooms last at least a month.
