A cold December day, at a Buddhist Temple, outside Daejeon City. This is Gapsa Temple (the 'Sa' part, is Korean for Temple). From Wikipedia:

"A 'jangseung' or village guardian is a Korean totem pole usually made of wood. Jangseungs were traditionally placed at the edges of villages to mark for village boundaries and frighten away demons. They were also worshipped as village tutelary deities.

In the southern regions of Jeolla, Chungcheong, and Gyeongsang, jangseungs are also referred to as beopsu or beoksu, a variation of boksa (복사/卜師), meaning a male shaman."

Hello Chris! Very interesting sculptures. Original scene. Good light and bright, very good sharp. Original picture. Good luck!

A very, very cool photograph...wonderful lighting and setting. You really get the feel of a cold, December day here. And these fantastic jangseungs are wonderful as well...very nicely done.

A very interesting picture and note. Gee it does look cold! The same time of year that I was visiting there. Very good detail on the 'jangseung'. TFS and have a great day!

Hi Chris,
I like the composition with totem poles on the left and the temple on the right side of the frame with the mountains in the BG. Nice detail in this picture. Nice work.

Kevin

What a fabulous shot Chris!
Those totem poles are quite engaging and
I like how they look there in the center of this square.
Great to see the surrounding mountain in the background.
Very well seen and captured.

Hi Chris,

I did not know totems can be seen in Korea - what a lovely view in this garden - yes looking closer the BG does indeed have a cold feel to it.

Apart from the obvious Chris as cold looking as some parts of Tasmania this winter. A busy scene but well composed and captured,
David
