Flowering Azalea in the main street of Songnisan, near Beopjusa Buddhist Temple.

"Azaleas are flowering shrubs making up part of the genus Rhododendron. Originally azaleas were classed as a different genus of plant, but now they are recognized as two of the eight subgenera of rhododendrons - Pentanthera (deciduous) and Tsutsuji (evergreen). Azaleas bloom in spring, their flowers dying only a few weeks later. They do not need as much sun as other plants; they live near trees and sometimes under them. Azalea is also the flower of the astrology symbol Sagittarius."

A great shot and wanderful details,
compliments
Michel

Hello Chris,
Bright and vivd colors of these beautiful Azaleas, something that is not thought of in the frigid weather of Korea as many have come to think it is at all times. I like the atmosphere along the valley's slopes also, creates mysticism and charm both.
Well Captured...

Hi Chris,
Very intense colours, certainly makes for a lively shot. The bright reds and pinks seem to stand out well against the greenish hue of the city.

TFS,
Scott.

Hi Chris,

I missed this one yesterday. The multi-colored Azalea's make a good entry for the Intense Colors theme. You have a keen eye to capture the best of any subject you photograph, excellent POV. I'm afraid that I couldn't find anything suitable for the theme, and it'll be raining here all weekend.

Best regards,
Werner

Hi Chris,
Azaleas are ones of my prefered flowers, just a pity they don't grow in my garden! I love these vibrant colors and their contrast with the mountains in backdrop! Excellent perspective and fine details. Bravo! Annie
