| The great Admiral Yi Sun Shin's Long Sword at the Korea National War Memorial in Seoul. In fact, this is just like the ones I saw at about three other memorials and museums around the country. Needless it is a replica (still no flash was used). It was said that Admiral Yi Sun Shin was one of the greatest admirals in history, building up a navy out of nothing and against great odds winning all of the 23 sea battles he engaged in against the Japanese invaders (1592-1598) odds, crippling their advances. Perhaps he holds the record for the admiral with the greatest enemy ships sunk and enemy sailers/soldiers killed among his battles. |
