[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The original looked like Easter Island statues, & I may add it later, as a workshop. I played around with the artistic filters in Gimp, & really like the graphic, swirling effect here. Part of the image has had tone reversal.

The program sequence that I used, was 'Filter', 'Map', 'Illusion'. Then I just played around with saturation, sharpness, & brightness contrast, in selected areas. I've added the workshop, as promised.

These guardian statues, are unique to Jeju Island, & made from volcanic rock. They're called "jangseung" on the Korean mainland, but "harubang" on Jeju Island.

Jeju Island has three main characteristics, often summed up as the 'samda' (meaning three extremes): many rocks, much wind, and many females. Although the 'samda' often have negative connotations, natives have learned to use them to their advantage. They use the the multitude of lava rocks that can be found all over the island, for many uses: building walls around crop fields and grave sites, in buildings and breakwaters, and for fortification against invaders. While their brethren on the mainland used wood for making changseung, Cheju Islanders used rocks to create their version: the harubang statues."

Oh I do too Chris, It's the repetition of those people and the graphics I like.
You are right, I though you had been to Easter Island - but that is not the case.
Lovely work.

WOw, looks like you did some work on this one! Amazing, really strange how it all revolves around the state! Is this the statue of hunger? I can feel he wants something to eat!

Hello Chris! What a productivity in photography! I can hardly follow you.And you travel as much as you photograph! What a pleasure it must be.I especially enjoy this one,I like your pp work.Did you use Photoshop for this 'filter-map-illusion'? I have an old version of Photoshop and I do not see that on mine...The result is spectacular and quite attractive,Thanks for sharing!
