[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
The English people left a clear footprint behind in Sri Lanka. For example these schoolgirls, who still go to school in their traditional English uniform.
The same can be seen in the workshop, where two uniformed schoolboys can be found. As you can see these boys did receive a pencil for being a model. Dutch pencils are quality products, so they were very happy with it.

The education is free up to university in Sri Lanka. However, the number of places available in Universities are limited and because of that the competition is severe. (Thanks to Linus for this information).

In this photo I do like the innocence of the girls and their faith for the future. I guess their parents are very happy too, because their children receive education.

Indeed, lovely and polited people they are in Sri-Lanka.
Most are living in conjunction with Nature, But hard life when it comes to make money for living.

Hi Joop,
Such a charming photo. This is very common sight in the morning in Sri Lanka. One minor error in your note, the education is free up to university in Sri Lanka. However, the number of places available in Universities are limited and because of that the competition is severe.

Perfecte compositie Joop en een heerlijk moment vol hoop.
Laten we hopen dat deze meisjes een redelijke toekomst staat te wachten.
De foto in de WS zette me aan het denken. Ik geloof dat het niet de bedoeling is om je hand op een hoofd te leggen - de zetel van de geest mag niet zomaar worden aangeraakt - maar ik kan het fout hebben - vraag anders aan Linus??

Oh the girls look so lost in a world we all once knew but rushed to leave!!! I love the movement and well really nice space for them to walk into..
Did you bring the Dutch pencils to give as gifts? The ws is very interesting to me.. Does it really get sweater cold?
