[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Taken in 1986 at Hikkaduwa beach, Southern Sri Lanka. The fishing fleet is resting after a hard days work and waiting for the next tide to go out again.

This is one of my all time favorite photos, very close my heart. This is one of those which got me started on my journy of photography and showed me that I have some ability to see things in a way that can be captured nicely on film. The original was taken by my Minolta X-700, scanned from the printed copy as the negative can not be found.

This picture has had an interesting history on the web. I originally posted it on TE. Then after I started posting on TL, this picture was posted here few months ago. Sometime recently TL administrators noticed that the picture was on both sites and asked me to remove it from TL. Now that I have removed all my postings from TE, I decided to re-post this one here again. The picture is not identical to the one that was originally here, but has been cropped and cleaned up more and framed differently.

Hello,

This is a "vintage-like" picture.
That's looking as...a painting!
Very well done!

Bernard

I absolutely agree with Nikofan, it is really like a painting, bravo!
Vassilis

And here is number 3 to confirm its like a Painting. Great colours Sunil and nice compo! Well done TFS
John

So, this is the "bug" that bit you, Sunil? :) I guess we all could point to something like that in our backgrounds.

It's a lovely scene with the varying colors of the sky and water - I can understand why you love it.

Gayle :)

(The title is a bit distracting, IMO.)

Hi Sunil

A wonderful shot of the colorful boats, that form a pleasant, repetitive pattern. It would make a good painting. There is a little noise in the sky. Well done!

almost like a painting, nicely done, good quality, thanx, M, (*_*)

During the waiting, we can admire the colors in that water! Incredible how nature did a nice match to fit your frame color! :)
Nice compo with good space...

Hi Linus,
I agree with the other critics this looks like a painting and a great one. The composition is excellent and I like this great textured sky. Very well done.
Luc
