Here's another contribution to the Hunt:
Nightshot of a building.
This is the China Resources Tower in Bangkok captured from our Hotel-room.
It's the 5th talles building in BKK, 210 m high with 53 floors.
I love the lighting there so much, hope you also do.

Agree with you on the light. It makes something special out of this dark image. The thumbnail looked a bit dark but the photo is fine and very clear.

Well done

Sabine, I haven't found this shot yet for the Scavenger hunt, but your contribution is wonderful. I love the lights on the top of the building, the lovely inverted "v's" on the two rooftops. There is so much to see even in this dark night scene. Well done.

Hey Wishnu,
great nocturnal shot,
well managed exposure, I wish you wouldn't have centered the building that you treat as your subject, leaves lees comparison for us,
well thats just my perception,
Great Capture never the less :)

Hi Sabine,

Great night shot!
The lights look fantastic here! They give colour on the image and brighten up the dark silhouettes of the city buildings!
Well done!

Nana Hotel?! Funny name but not by itself... It's by the difference of language it's became funny. In Québec we don't it it or so less... This slang expression is more usual in France... "Nana" is one expression to design a girl. :)

You catch the light very well here! I enjoy the exposure! 30 secs! I understand the low operture ! Excellent result!

Super nightshot Sabine. Sehr gut gemacht! TFS

The way you handle light is superb! I like this one.

Hi. Nice capture, we have a liking for these long exposure night shots. this is a classic. Thanks for sharing!!!

Nice shots, I like the colors. I just started with these type of night shots also.

Negativr points are the light color in the sky and the blown out lights. Think this can be solved by using some type of HDR technique (combining multiple shots with different exposures) Here is a technique I still need to try out:

Sabine, I saw this in the SH theme and the tn looked really promising. When I opened it, however, the first thing I noticed was that your sensor needs cleaning; even on my old laptop screen I see at least 3 distinctive dust bunnies, the leftmost one is hard to miss anyway. Why didn't you just clone them out?
Or you might have avoided them entirely if you hadn't used a small aperture as f32, but 7.1 or so...which would have used a faster shutter speed too. And that would also have avoided the 'leaking' of the neon glow to the sky above the rightmost tower.
Apart from that leak, I do find that neon glow quite attractive, but bottom line is that IMO you overexposed slightly. Do you use exposure bracketing in night photography ? I find that a quite handy feature of the 350D. Btw, I noticed you made a little mistake in the camera info (Ricoh?). I too will try out the tips in the link Pedro provided.

Compo is good, though IMO cropping the rightmost building (at least its windows) would work too, as it adds nothing to the subject.

I'm sorry to sound so negative here, but as you know I like to speak my mind...
