[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
Earlier this year I was privileged to take photos of the children in a little orphanage around the corner. I like to help out there occasionally, cuddling and feeding them. It is a very rewarding job. There are some 20 young children between a few weeks and two years old. Being so young, they get adopted easily. Adopting parents – all from Western countries - must qualify and may not choose their prospective child themselves. The children from this orphanage all get adopted. Sad and traumatized as they all are at the start of their young lives, they still are the lucky ones, because they are being spared a life in poverty.

Thank you for your interest!

PP: Added ligth, cropped,re-sized and framed. Changed to sepia because of the unfavourable light conditions in the orphanage.

What a sensitive portrait. Brings back memories when my sister-in-law adopted a baby girl. She has grown into quite a lady now, though my sister-in-law is no more, taken away by ALS.

Dear Cordelia
Wonderfull shot my dear friend and touching story! You do well to bring this to us. If I look to this nice little person.. the expression in the eyes.. Yes its like you say.. they are the lucky ones. Good to see you are still here.. I have been away on vacation and back a few. TFS

Beautiful image Cordelia and a wise choice of sepia to fit the notes. As my wife and I are foster parents I can relate to this. Lovely notes, well composed photo. TFS,
David

nice eyes.

Hi Cordelia, what a nice portrait and the monochrome suits the subject quite well. Poor kids, I hope they find a home soon.

take care, Yan :)

An expression has been caught very beautifully in the monochrome composition. Fine details have been captured. Good light management. And the commentary note is very useful.

Thanks for sharing a thoughtful image.

Beautiful image, his eyes say it all!
Yes very rewarding, i had a friend who went to OS to work in an orphange for a year. She agreed very rewarding.
