I'd like to add some more background information though (following yesterday's post): When these children are picked up by their adopting parents - usually around age 2 - they can still not speak. However, in their new environments they get so much individual love, care and attention that this does not seem to be a problem later on. Parents adopting such a young child have taken many hurdles (including paying lots of money) in order to bring one of them back home.

On a technical note: The light conditions in this orphanage are most unfavourable, so I changed the images to sepia. Sharpness was a problem, most of the images have a soft focus. I think it is fitting.

Thank you for your interest!

PP: Added light, changed to sepia, sharpened, cropped, framed and re-sized

This one is even better than the last one, Cordelia. The composition is superb, especially the way you have included the crucifix on the nun holding the child. This is a precious and very moving capture. TFS

Dear friend!
We see and judge infact two things..The story of this

Touching sweet little angel here. (Clever shot!!)
TFS and a good weekend Cordelia ...

Hola Cordelia, she is a little sad... i hope this year being a prelude to changes.

A lovely image Cordelia. The sepia tone is ideal as is the softer look, it conveys the feelings of these children so much. Fostering children is just as hard especially after I read through the case history of some of the kids we have had in care. Touching, moving and well portrayed. TFS,
David

Many thanks for your comment on ‘Tamar Tranquillity II’

Well Done Cordilla!

The expression says it all!

The innocence of a child,
The sadness of a child....

Very emotional image, TFS
