This is Kongham painting a picture of some flowers - taken in Chang Mai, Thailand. The Mahut or trainer who normally spends his whole life with the elephant, puts paint on the brush and hands it to the elephant.
It was fascinating to watch and that particular painting now hangs in our lounge. |

Hi Jack!
I don't like the exploitation of animals. The process of teaching these big cuties how to draw 'trained' paintings, to entice tourists, is laborious and stressful to the animals.
Setting aside my beliefs and politics, zooming in on the subject (including the painting, it's eye, and the seated mahout) or cropping out or tweaking the Shadows/Highlights of the overexposed BG would make this image better, IMHO.
Regards,
Freddie

Hi Jack,
This is fantastic, does the elephant do all the painting or just the daubs of colour?
Normally you don't want people walking past your pic, but this works a treat, look how his legs match the easel, great timing.
I would certainly hang that painting in our lounge if I saw it being done.
Peter.
Hi Jack,
I agree with the "explotation of animals" and there is quite a bit of that worldwide.
However a picture tells a thousand words and this one has done just that.Nice angle although correct BG exposure would have made an improvement.TFS,
