Again, edited on a badly calibrated laptop, so not sure how this will look when I get home to the desktop!

Anyway, snapped when we arrived at our resort in Phuket on Thursday evening. There was some Thai dance show going on - i'd like to say it was to welcome us, but sadly that wouldn't be true :-) I shall try and catch this show again, i think there is the potential for some great shots if I get the background right. At the time of shooting this I was dealing with kids, a wife, several bags and a receptionist chasing for signatures!

That aside, I fiddled about in pp, desaturating and messing about with RGB levels - a new toy I was put onto recently by another Treklenser.

Shot in RAW, converted, cropped, resized, sharpened and the fiddling mentioned above. Oh, and ran through Neatimage.

Bonjour Richard,
Très bel effet ce flou en bg.
On dirait que le personnage vient d'une autre photo tellement le contraste est travaillé dessus.
J'aime beaucoup l'effet des ongles qui se perdent dans le flou. Très beau travail !
Bonne journée

Well tis look good in my laptop and my desktop so I like it. Very good composition. The dancer is well placed to become a strong focal point. The dual colours also seem to enhance the image and create a nice, softer mood. The details are ok and the low lights is excellent to create a more serious mood. Nice work Richard. Cheers :-)

Well ... it's a little dark maybe, but the composition and framing are good, and the depth of field works well. I'm kinda keen to see the coloured version since I know how lovely these costumes are, but your b&w treatment certainly brings attention to that amazing head-dress!

hi Richard,
in these kind of shots we have to decide on if it will be more silhuette, or more details... for me it is in the middle...
by the way very nice composition, that I never tried. a little more sharpness could be better I think ...
well done Richard

Nice effect, the toned treatment suits this picture well.

very intersting subject and nice pose! i think i ould have prefered however if the dancer would have been the main interest, mean taking the whole body for exemple, as in addition, her costume appears beautiful!
It is reat to have converted your photo in those tones but i would have been curious to see the original colours!

Hi Richard. I like this especially as the backdrop is very good, and the dancer enchanting. Good B&W series. TFS. Murray.
