[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This was from the same show as the Fire Breathers.

Prior to the fire-breathing part of the show, the performers would walk through the water spinning and throwing the...ummm...stick thing with fire at each end! Not sure what you call them, mind gone blank!

Not really sure what else to say, please see the other images for more interesting notes!

Shot in RAW, jpeg conversion, brightness reduced, resized and sharpened.

Superb sharpness, very nice composition, it took me a while to determine that you hadn't used any desaturation on this - the subdued colours vs the vivid orange of the flames is really there!
Nice work

Hi Richard,
I really like this shot.
Very atmospheric and you have caught him in a strong pose. Great detail in the foreground water ripples, and great flame detail also.
Thanks for sharing
Best wishes
Philippa

Hi Richard

I am loving this series so I hope there are more to come. the colours here are superb and It looks like a heat haze given off by the flame on the top of the .. stick thingy... great capture

TFS regards Helen

Hi Richard, this partially desaturated image suits very well the subject and light condition..

Very well done, well taken and composed.

Hi Richard,

The soft darkness .. and the water .. are a wonderful and evocative contrast to the flame.
Thoughtful and beautiful image.

take care,

John

I really like the pp work on this Richard! The pop in of color makes the shot look surreal! I love the reflections behind the man are wonderful! I really like this alot!

Another nice shot in your series, I like the way the distortion caused by the heated air is visible.

I like that photo for maybe other reason then the one who are evident... It's nice! Like the other we have the mix of water and fire who is of a good symbolic. But shadows here bring good things. I enjoy the mask who emerge from those shadows... The fuel let show some fuel around the guy... It's a kind of distortion of the background by the heat of that hot fuel evaporation that i enjoy. And the minimal reflection of the torch into the water... First you present the tempest of the fire... Now we see the calm of it :) Why not!

Hello Kilted-Arab! Amazing composition. Cheers!

Great POV and as a result a powerful composition. The emphasis on the fire works really well.
