She is one of the many kids in Palong village who were so happy to see us (tourists) and they really enjoyed being photographed. Palong is a very friendly village. It takes two days trekking in the mountains to reach the village but I think it's worth the smiles..

cropped and sharpened.

Hope you enjoy,
Skye

Lovely portrait. Might have been nice to see more of her hands.

A very beautiful portrait of this child - and a wondeful momento of your visit to this area. Much more meaningful than the usual tourist shots. The colours are superb. Thanks for sharing this one with us.

This is a lovely portrait Skye. She looks so happy and contented to be photographed too. Good capture, great colours and details. Yes, perhaps more of her hands - next time?? Well done, I do like it.

Gorgeous little princess Skye, very good portrait shot. Great colours, details, DOF and lighting, very well captured, thanks for sharing... have a good weekend. :)

A really friendly and also curious face.
Good captured; wonderful colours.
I wonder if this towel is part of the dressing.
And the hands; well, you have read it ''''''

Very beautiful portrait of this beautiful girl. Very sharp with good details on her skin and in the colours of her clothes. I agree with Paul that I would have preferred to see less above her head and more of her hands but that is a minor detail. I found the towel around her neck to be interesting but also a bit too bad because it hides the beauty of her local costume. But overall, a very well done portrait.

I have experienced the same thing when I visited Hanoi about 15 years ago. Anytime I would take my camera out to photograph one of the sights, I would get kids in front of me wanting to be taken in picutres. Sometimes I was not fast enough to see them coming so I was taking only half of them or they were not really in focus and as I was using film at the time, I could not take them again.

Wow - just perfect! What a gorgeous child! The colors are so vivid and the clarity is wonderful!
Gayle :)

Nice portrait, her clothes add a lot of colour, are they typical from this region? Is it common for people to wear them?

Regarding the composition, needless to say about the hands, but, still, a pretty good portrait.

Your right, it seems trekking for two days was worth the effort! Such a nice smile. Very good colours and detail.
Well done :)

Hi Skye,
Great portrait and I agree with the others about showing more of her hands. Colours and details are superb as usual. Another comment is that after so many great portraits of others here and in TE isn't it time for a self-portrait (SP)?:)))
Regards,

Shelly.
