[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I had an appointment with Krystal this morning.

We met at the flower market at 6:30 am coz I wanna get a moody light. It was raining. Well, Krystal said it might be a blessing in disguise because it might create a good mood.

I bought lotus and roses for props. I was wet and Krystal was playing around with the umbrella. Clicked here...clicked there. We finally settled at a nearby school for more relaxed shoots. The ones underneath the rain was chaotic with many people passing, watching and admiring Krystal.

I had plenty of shots but i am posting this first to get your comments. I am entering this for a "High Contrast" theme. Is it high contrast enough? Will the colored version be okay (please see workshop)? The smoothened face is intentional as I intend this to be a fashion shot.

Krystal, btw, is busy with print and TV ads, TV series, etc. But she said that her biggest goal is Hollywood. She looks a lot more mature now. And yes, she said she would be willing to come for a photo shoot again should I need her.

Sabai di Reu, Manuel

I like the partial desaturation, & sepia tones. A superb portrait, with a wonderful lighting & mood.

Hi Manuel,
I can feel your dilemma in choosing between the 2 high contrast shots.
Both shots are strong in their own way. The b&w shot has a more retro feel while the colour one has a more joyful feeling to it.
It would really depend what is the intended message you would like to give.
My personal preference would go for the coloured version. The contrast is higher in the coloured version as she really stands out from the background (particularly her black hair).

I hope this helps...let me know which one you will decide to send. thanks! :)

What a good shot, the B&W is perfect. She has deep strong eyes, the flowers in her hands looks nice.
Well done.
Pamela

Manny,

I 've had a look at both versions. I like them both and they each have their own separate mood. The high contrast really makes her bueatiful eyes stand out. The contrast should not be higher :-)

take care

Gareth

Wonderful subject here and your job capturing and composing the scene is terrific. Nice work.

Very good pov an good colours. The lady gives a good mood to the picture.

Hi Manuel, may this sound strange... but i think you've missed the PP in the face... somehow i don't see her like before and not as a fashion photo, more like a paiting maybe.

Don't get me wrong... the photo is superb but just don't match your note.

BTW i also like the coloured version most

I personally prefer the colour version, the colours emphasise the mood very well, and give it a warmer feeling. I think both would count as high contrast. Nice photo!

I like this B&W better. Hmmm...maybe a little more color to the lips?

Nols

Hmmm... tough decision. I think for the high contrast challenge, the B&W looks better. But I prefer the color version overall. Great work!

You have so many note, one more is unuseful...
only I like this in a special mode...
Paolo

beautiful!!!
prefer the coloured version..has a bit more warmth
great work again manny =)

hey kabayan, congratz again for the 3rd place award on this photo on the recently held "High Contrast" challenge at DPC! you rock, Man!

The frame is great, but both (this and workshop) are too soft and her skin look artificial - like a doll of something. The colour version looks better to me because it's not so unnatural. She's got very nice look, good idea with those flowers.

Wlodek
