When our group of 3 arrived at the Thuan Tinh boat station to board our pre-arranged boat for a ride along Thu Bon River, the workers told us they don't have a boat available for us. They then demanded us to pay VN$200,000 (US$12.50) per hour if we would like them to call another private boat, which we agreed. When the boat came, they told us we must pay VN$200,000 for only 30 minutes that they could make between their assigments. We didn't mind about the total quote, but 30 minutes wouldn't be enough to cover the photographic trip along the river. So we abandoned the offer.
Back to Hoi An Town, we went to fish market and my nephew was lucky to locate this boat owner who offered us the price of VN$40,000/hour. We spent 3 hours visiting the duck farms and shooting other activities over the river.
When we got back to town, this lady even helped us buying some fresh seafood, and asked her friends to cook for us without charge.
