Two wheeler fleeing the flood

While the river is rising a mother and child are fleeing from the flood in Hoi An.
Not a contribution to Smurfies Friday's theme. Just an addition to my Travelogue in South East Asia.

Used a very low POV, the botom of my camera was just above the water surface.

Hello Hans.
I really like your low POV and composition. Nice colours of the buildings and plants. That's a pity that the sky was so dull.

Hello Hans.
Great POV and excellent composition.
very beautiful colours and details.
Well done my friend.

N I C E !!!

I see here that you must have had the AutoFocus switched on and pointed at the center. The lady and the little one on the bike are not perfectly sharp. But... all in all that does no harm to this image. I really like the composition and the low angle is chosen very well.
Great reflections and rainy colors!

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Hans,
Your low POV gives us the feeling to be there!
I like much the beautiful composition with this good lead-in of the electrical line and the great sense of space. The washed sky emphasizes it with more efficiency. I like also the contrast with the empty and the plenty two sides of the image. Very interesting and instructive daily photo! Bravo! Annie

LOL!!!
I can just imagine what's going on in her head :-).

Love the wet POV.

Hoi Hans,

Kijk dat mag ik graag zien: iemand die voor een goed resultaat met z'n buik in het water ligt...geen wonder dat je de griep krijgt :-)
Mooie persachtige foto van het leven (met water) in vietnam.

Groeten,

Edwin

Hi Hans
Very interesting take. I would like this year to tour Vietnam but I am afraid of a rain. I can see that my anxieties are justified.
Cheers

Now this one really impresses me! Which bits of the GreenBaron were dipped in the floodwater, may I ask??

The composition is excellent, I love the way attention is drawn into the two on the bicycle, then allowed to wander along that low horizon - personally this is one of my favourite shots from your gallery!

p.s. ask Sweety about her evil plot.

Hi Hans,

Just thinking how did you capture this image . . Too risky of getting wet . .
I love this image taken from low level . .
Lovely composition . .
Well done my friend

Hello Hans:)
Very nice presentation of that exotic site of the world...
" reporter's " - kind of photography.
Only that sky is a bit to bright - just my opinion.

A good daily life scene from Hoi An (I've been there in 1999 & 2001). A superb photojournalistic shot of the motorcycle, negotiating the flooded streets. Tfs!

Very creative and effective use of the low POV, Hans - it is techniques like that which make the difference between photographers and holiday-snappers. Well done indeed, a great lesson for anyone on Treklens. Good stuff!

Morning Hansie

Okay okay......I hope to get you off my back now lol

As everybody already stated, your POV is very well chosen. And only a nut will get his behind wet for a woman on a bike ;)
The electricity cables definitely give the image depth. And the ppl in the bg make it clear this is not where the water usually comes.
To me the photo tells the whole story but one has to look carefully.

Hei Hans prachtige foto..met de voeten in het water?

Hi Hans,

Gotten wet feet there?! A pity of the sky that's not very eventful, but not over-exposed! I thought about looking at it in portrait layout, but you really need the part to the right to see the water a bit wider. Nice.

Greetings,
Dennis

Excellent Hansie!! Really nice low profile shot, really nice pp work on this! Great control of light, shooting up into the sky! I love it!

Hallo Hans,
sehr beeindruckend dein Bild.
Gute Arbeit mein Freund.

Wünsche dir eine leichte Woche:),

Hi Hans, lovely composition with bike in the rain, great POV and splendid colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Excelente imagen y original perspectiva Hans.
Hermosa y cotidiana escena.

Hey Hans,

Graet capture, with great clearness and detail.
The movement of the bike in the water is very well caught. Elegant compo with great depht.

Hello Hans
This is one time when electrical wires really add to the composition. Great photo.

The low pov works really well here, Hans!
I can almost hear the water splashing as it is disturbed by the wheels! It also gives a good view of the expressions on the mother and child's faces! The wires then act as leading lines to draw the eye into the rest of the picture! A very interesting shot!

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

I just love the low POV here. Stunning detail and composition. Of course it is the perfect frame to show of this lovley image. I like the man in the boat at the bench, and the look on the mothers face. Very well done, Mr. GB, to capture this moment so well.

hi Hans

Amazing shot. I like your low angle, making it very intimate close to the flood and the biker. Despite the wires, this shot clearly gives me a feel of hardship and resolve to get around the problem.

I am impressed by your travelogue to SE Asia and this one speaks by itself how you have captured lively scenes. Thinking how big size you are, I can imagine how not easy for you to stoop low for taking this shot, very dedicated photographer and I admire that.

Excellent!

Hi Hans,

Very dynamic image .... we had some flooding over here a few months back, not very nice ... I understand the woman's expression. :)

Wonderful composition, setting her over in the corner, and leaving all the street business behind her. Lovely scene, even if it wasn't particularly pleasant.

I hope you were wearing some water-proof boots in this weather! :)

Nice capture of that evenement. I love the lower point of view that you choose. TFS !

Awesome photo. Your point of view is excellent. It's something that one must think about doing at times, as it doesn't always come naturally.

There's a story to be told here, and you did it very well indeed.

A super capture Hans. Very well done. And a case where the overhead wires serve as a lead in & helps give it depth. : Don
