Hi!

Halong Bay in the north of Vietnam consists of more than 3000 limestone rocks and islands. They rise 100 meters to 200 meters (for the footfolk among you: 320 to 640 feet) above the water surface. Legend says that a giant dragon collapsed in the sea and that Halong Bay is what is left of his scaly body.
Cat Ba island is the largest of the 3000 limestone islands. It is completely acknowledged as national park and now starts to attract more tourists every year. Cat Ba Town is a small seaside village with an impressive bay speckled with worn boats (There must be more people living on the water than on the shores!). This photo was taken in the morning from my hotel room. I ran downstairs a little later to get me some coffee and settle myself on the balcony of my room to indulge myself in the mythical wonders of Vietnam. Heavenly!

Posted workshop to adjust some errors (see critique LuDivine)

Joris

Dear Joris Matthe!
Wonderful point of view.
Interesting perspective.
Nice panorama.
Good lightness.
TFS!

Lovely picture, amazing scenery! beautifully framed :). I just have a slight problem about the horizon which seems to be slightly tilted,... or is it an effect because of the islands??
Great one!

Joris,

You were able to capture the places atmosphere. The workshop with the horizon corrected looks better.
Cheers,
Wellington

Lovely--I like how the boats and the islands kind of merge together.
