[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
This picture will transport you to the harbour area in downtown Ho Chi Minh City ( Saigon ). This is one of three or four such restaurants (all afloat of course and kept that way ) moored solidly to the piers along the Saigon river. Daylight views are nothing compared to evening ones , indeed it looks much better at night when well dressed party-goers or wealthier folks ( some tourists but not me...lol ) enjoy dining in colourful surroundings . A wedding was taking place at the time .Did my very best to keep the scene sharp , handheld against a post,
1/8 sec, iso 200 and f/3.2,
sharpened a bit and saturated colors in PP,

I ate aboard Jumbo ( also a ship restaurant) while in Hong Kong and I have to say this is a very unusual looking boat when all lit up, and that the capture is awesome with all those colors and such sharpness.

Interesting, since we must of crossed paths in DEC 2006. I never made it down to the river at night, now I wish I did. Luv the reflection of colors in the water. I'm planning a Photo trip next week to Vietnam. More on this at www.chuckkuhnphotography.blogspot.com. TFS

Bonjour Carol
Je remarque un contrôle parfait des tons moyens car les personnages de la rangée du bas sont correctement exposés à l'éclairage tamisé du restaurant. Les reflets ont beaucoup d'éclat et les hautes lumières ont aussi une densité agréable.
J'ai pris l'habitude d'ajuster les EV sur la caméra à -2 pour des situations semblables; c'est rapide et efficace. Il faut cependant éclaircir un peu les tons moyens.
