Flowers on the hill behind Manzushir monastery in the Bogdkhan Uul Strictly Protected Area. Note: (This is actually in the state of Töv, though TrekEarth does not list that as a choice.) It is rather near Ulaanbaatar, however.

Nice shot, Hugh. Good pov and subject from an area we rarely see. I didn't know they protected anything in China as they've shot, killed or plundered most everything that was originally there. Is this what is commonly known as 'outer' Mongolia or Mongolia?
