I can sense their happiness and contentment in their smiles. This is a wonderful double portrait. I like sandalwood type of soap, but clueless me don't know that the essence comes from a tree. Well done, greetings! Danilo

Excellent portraits, Vandana, and a true note. Somehow I don't really like the toning though, nor the extreme blur you applied to the backdrop - at f/11 nearly impossible to achieve, but it looks weird behind the man's face, especially behind his ears. Well, to me at least. I guess I'd prefer the original, regardless of the backdrop... faces like this tend to hold our attention anyway.
Just my opinion, nothing more... but, as you know, I like to speak my mind.

Very nice work, Vandana
Well composed, nice PP work to enhance the shot overall (did you add blur? It looks like gaussian blur rather than lens bokeh) and even the slight OE on the shoulder of the man is ok here.
His dignity and her smile are both beautifully captured.

hello Vandana,
this is a beautiful portrait of people who are comfortable in their own skins.However, I am not keen on the pp work as for me it is unnecessary, especially the big frame. The people can stand on their to make this a great shot.

this a very nice shoot, its very touching, good compo, lovely to see pictures like this once in a while, great light brown tones, very much like the soft blurry edges. very well taken and well treated.

Hi Vandana,
This is a superb posrtrait, addoring and as John discibes: luck is in the inner side, but the outside will show it and that's what you captured and presented! The blurred BG makes makes the focus is on the faces, the (almost) desaturation works excellent here. A superb posting my dear, I will add it to my favorites.

And the posture here is so nice and meaninful. The grandpa protective of her granddaughter.

A sandal wood guard. The name of that tree reminds me of expensive perfum, of excotic places. Would those trees be illegally chopped down otherwise - must be expensive.
These people indeed add beauty and you add to their down-to-earth personalities by using this colour.

I'm going to be honest and speak my mind here:)
I do think the background blur is a bit too much...doesn't at all look natural, especially for f/11 but...this portrait, their expressions is so powerful and real that I tend not to notice the background too much. Does that make sense to you? All this blur does immediately direct my attention to the couple, and then their direct look into the camera grabs my attention and doesn't let go. The couples hard work, honesty, commitment, happiness, contentment...all is portrayed here...big time. Yes, I think less blur would have made a better photo overall but this is clearly all about them, so I think anything could be done to the background and they will still shine through it.
Beautiful details captured and I do like the toning.

Yes, you're right, old people add beauty to their environment (you should see me lol) That is a very nice portrait of native people.I love to meet people when I travel in another country. The photo info ays color but I see it B&W which is very nice and the frame you built aropund them is great. Very good exposition.

(to answer to your question : this time, I was only in Andhra Pradesh, mostly to visit 3 schools in tribal area + a few days in Mahabalipuram near Chennai airport on arrival and before departure, ... but it was not my first travel to India - I was in Munnar in 1003, so your photo speaks to me a lot !)
