Watermelon Monster
After a few weeks of not posting, and after a very well received posting of "Proposal at Sunset", I couldn't find a 'better' image, so I'm posting a snapshot of my niece, a Watermelon Monster! :)

There's a strong shadow because of the flash but I like the expression and the wee bit of watermelon hanging from her chin :) It's a split second moment and I couldn't replicate it again. I'm glad I caught this for posterity :)

This wee watermelon monster got sick with pneumonia she contracted from a playmate, 6 days ago. Her teeth are still growing, adding to her malady. This is also one of the reasons I didn't have time to edit a pic for TL. She's still confined to her hospital suite, see HERE. But she's fine now and will be released tomorrow. A bit slimmer than before, but I know she'll grow big and strong. She's already playing with me, both yesterday and tonight. She's partial on red things to eat so I'm bringing juicy watermelons and grapes and I'll cook a yummy spaghetti, just for her! :)

Hi Fred, & lol at the apt title!

This kid is sure enjoying themselves. Good portrait, with excellent colour, sharpness & dof. Tfs!

very very nice portrait and l like frame..... tfs

Freddie,
First and most importantly, god bless your niece and I hope she gets better quickly. I didn't know you can contract "pneumonia"!
Secondly, has your photography gone backwards?
Lots of flash here, almost like you were inches from her face. I love her smile and the tight framing but I cannot get past the overuse of the fill-flash! Perhaps a zoom lens and flash from across the room might have helped this situation.
I hope she likes the spaghetti!
Scott

Hi Fred

Nice portrait shot and lovely expression. But I think your shooting standard is better than this.
