Colourful Clothing

Again Smurfie made me a hard time on the Friday's theme; "Clothing". I'm not the gay ehhh guy looking for clothing, I'm not female neither, I'm happy not to be naked (and many more with me) but a picture about clothing...jeeeee

After some thinking I realized I made a photo shoot in Laos in a little village were a woman was asked by the guide to show her ritual dress. Well here you see the woman who is deaf and dumb in the local traditional dress while her family (and some other kids from the block :-) is watching. The deaf and dumb remark is not a joke, she really was and she was really a nice cooperative woman, adoring seeing she was proud on her dress. Hopefully this kind of expositions will help her and her family live a bit more in comfort due the money received.

After her show she was paid by the Shoestring group. We left the village watching a happy family.

BTW do you see the little girl in the pink shirt on the lap of her mother....well I posted her before.

I'm also intrigued with the family's clothing too.

Hello Hans,
Very colorful costume decked with attractive stripes and beard. From what I have seen, the local tribes from neighboring countries have similarities in local costumes. Greetings! Danilo

Joyfull happy looking picture, Hans.
Jan

Hi Hans,
This is a very touching story you tell, good detail, even in the shadows.

hi Hans

Lovely capture of traditional lifestyle in the village with this shot, showing the costume and shyness of the people.

tfs, bill

Hi Hans,

Hahaha, I like that! Location: 'In the bush' :-)))
Oeh, that little girl gives you an ugly look in the link :-).

Enjoy your weekend!
Dennis

Hello Hans !

Interesting composition, with the rich and colorful costume against the modest house & family behind. Poor maybe, but certainly proud and happy family.

Great one for the theme,
Robert

Hi Hans. I like posts from these native areas. It never fails to amaze me the bright happy smiles which come so naturally. The so called developed countries seem to have grown away from simple happiness, in public anyway. Good colours. Sharpness my goal is to achieve one day. TFS. Murray.

Ciao Hans, beautiful composition full of life and colors, very well done, ciao Silvio

Hello Hans, what a nice group and the photograph is perfect. TFS
Regards Rose

Nice Hans, well composed to start with and good natural colours. The light has been well handled and good overall detail. I think the correct terms for a person who doesn't hear or speak these days anyway, is mute.
David

A lovely colourful photo Hans showing the detail of the traditional costume very well.

Just please allow me a comment regarding "deaf and dumb" - The word "dumb" is often associated with a low intelligence - Are you sure that this woman was "dumb" also? She was probably not able to speak well since she was not fortunate to be exposed to sound when she developed speech but that has nothing to do with her intelligence.

As a deaf (and hopefully not dumb) person I just like to point out that hearing peeps must be careful not to add the "dumb" tag (even in jest) where it is not applicable. I am not saying that you did so here but the perception may be carried over by your comment.

She is probably the clever one to be willing to show off the dress and receive more sympathy in doing so than a hearing person would get and in so doing contributing in a special way to help her family.

I salute you for helping her and her family towards a more comfortable life with your kind donations.

Please forgive if I was way off track here!
Kind regards

Wia
