Hi folks

Few months back I was exploring National Geographic's Afghan photos gallery where I saw a similar photo and thought of doing the same type photo as we have few such Afghan type hotels, so i can have a chance to make one myself. Luckily last month in an out door shoot with Abid (TL: Athlon) along with another friend Naeem Shah we stopped at a local road-side hotel to have a cup of tea.

It was a bright sunny day while we were having a cup of tea i was planning to take a photo like that (i am searching the "NG" photo n will share the link here)

I noticed the guy came in the sitting area and handed the can of Cooking Oil by USA to the people who were already sitting there, (that was the picture i had in my mind which i was planning to get) n all of the sudden it happened n given me opportunity to bring the imagination into actual image :)

I intend to give it a low light, evening time so in my post processing i darkened the image and lighten up the light at the very left top :) Processing in BW Styler adding grains (still it was taken at ASA 800) to give more like a film photo :)

Hope u enjoyed this one :)

Thanks for viewing
Have a good day
Cheers
JZM

Hi Jahanzeib

A superb b&w daily life image, with good sharpness, tonal range, & diffused light. The USA cooking oil can, shows that these Pakistanis are pragmatic. Tfs!

Hello Malik Saab,
Yes, the tin or can of that cooking oil is used as water bucket and with each cattle of tea this bucket of water also moves. It the reminder that how much USA has infulence in our daily life though these cooking oil are AID for Afghanistan but lot of these cross border to feed our stomach.
Well done,
TFS.

Musa.

Really nice shot - great in B&W.. I particularly like that you can't see any faces clearly! It's good to have an idea in mind and get out and shoot it!! I like the grainy effect and definitely NG style - that's the standard in photography!!

Good work..

DAVid

Hello KBE
Nice B&W photo of an afghan hotel.

dear Jahanzeib,
an excellent B&W shot, nicely controlled light and shadow,
the air in this room is well expressed with very quiet and calm ambience.
maybe the USA can is a metaphor of this situation...
thank you,
Akihisa

Hallo Jahanzeib,
Very interesting picture. A very suggestive way. Black and white colors are great for playing this picture.
Have a quiet day,
Adrian

Hello Jahanzeib,

It must have been very satisfying to have the concept in your mind at the outset, and achieve exactly what you had intended at the completion!
This is a strong image (with the preparatory title) and certainly creates emotion in the viewer.
The f/g rug acts like steps, leading towards the focal people. Then, the ceiling lines carry the view rapidly onwards, towards the t/l/h corner where the light acts like a magnet to the eyes.

Kind regards,
Bev :-)

Hello Jahanzaib,
Nice shot with documantary taste.. Good depthness of field and daily life details of Afghan culture.

Darkenening has created a great mood and made the carpet look like stairs, leading the eyes to the main subject, the light bulb and its glow adds to the composition.
Well done, being there at the right time often pays off.
