[Note Guidelines] Photographer's Note
I am going to skip over Cozumel for the time being, and I'll take you right to my favorite of all the stops - Belize!! I LOVED Belize, and I would seriously consider living there. It was very colorful and just had a "feel" to it. It reminded me of a cross between New Orleans, Jamaica, and Costa Rica. The people were great, and the sights were wonderful. I hope you enjoy my pictures from Belize.

We were walking along the pier when I saw these two young ladies. They were braiding hair for money. As you can see, I couldn't have asked for better color coordination. I am reluctant to take pictures of people. I fear their reaction, and I am too shy to ask permission. I shot this quickly. I was pleased at the result. I captured such an interesting pose.

For the piece:
I started with a black background. I copied my image, and I reduced the size. I inverted the image then solarized it. I then increased the canvas to add the border. I placed it on the black background.

I then took the original, and I sharpened and reduced noise. I then added a bevel around the edge of the photo as well as a shadow.

I cropped a sun shape and added a bevel, then added the Belize text with contour and shadow.

please excuse the poor quality. The file was big, so I had to save in a low quality jpeg in order to fit it in the 204 K size.

Interesting shot you got here of two ladies. The bright lemon is standing out making the mood vibrant which is quite complemented by your treatment and graphics.
Well done Amy - drastic yet a pleasant departure from your Cozumel.

Nice work. I'm glad you were quick to take the pic. You got a really cool looking pic her (seated lady) friend's stance looks so cool and her expression is so natural. It almost seems like you walked up in middle of a conversation. The pp work you did is awesome. I like the bold colors.

Lovely, this reminds me of Belize which I visited in the 1970's. A lovely place. Great photo lovley pose and a great crisp shot.

great PP work and they have posed for u very natural;I wonder how u convince them for such a pose,normally they look at your camera but here..,fantastic.and the empty coke bottle lying down there was a nice detail to see in that position at such a height.

I can hear them now Amy. "Air Braiden" Great capture of a slice of life in the Caribbean. The colors are nice and bold and I like the presentation. Looks like a picture in a travel brochure. Nicely done Amy.

Wonderful capture, Amy, with great colours & wonderful composition. Then you have added so great PP work to make it into something that the country could use on billboard to advertise their country. Very artistic work. Excellent!

I love the post processing you did on this image. The colours seem to pop just right. I know what you mean about taking shots of people in the public. It is hard for me too. This composition is great, and the insert at the side compliments it well. Very nice shot.
