Difficult to categorize this one !!

Let's leave the sunny beaches for a while , and do some island exploration......

The story behind it. Every year, despite travel agents are not recommending moto or car rentals, we rent either a scooter, a car or a jeep for a few days to explore the region and visit friends. I will come back later on this subject. Today it is not the point !

So ,this year, it was no exception. I went out for a little safari with Martine with a 4WD Suzuki . Lots of fun in the small roads in the area. To be honest these were more trails then roads despite they were shown as gravel roads ( LOL!).

Anyway, in a very remote place exiting a curve we came straight in front of this monster while he just grabbed his lunch. The breaks screamed ! , or was it Martine ? I grabbed my camera , while suddenly this guy seemed to find us more interesting than his actual lunch.

Did not have much time to focus here or frame it adequately. Took a few shots, and turned around, after Martine begged me to stop taking pictures, and put back my &?%*()& camera in its bag..... Fortunately it did not run after us like the Tyranosaure Rex in Jurassic Park. We left slowly making sure he was not following us....

After all, the travel agent may be was right....

Bon appétit!
Cheers!

PS Perhaps I should mention, No color alteration here! I added the original shot as a WS and some more details !

Wow! what a great live nature shot, Wonderful colours and sharp details. I really laughed at your note to, I could picture the scene really easily :))

Great work

John

Beau catch, Robert! Bravo!

What a great shot! Wonderful colors, details, sharpness and composition. Superb! Yukiko

Hum, this reminds me that it's time for lunch... No, I'm not going to go looking for lizards!

Nice story in two parts (made me laugh), and a lovely photo of real life. Do I really want to say lovely here? Well maybe not; well captured, and nice realistic colors are better descriptions, but they sounds so banial and this moment is definitely not that. Arresting, ah that's what this is, an arresting photo, one that makes you stop and look.

Regards,
Lois

Bonjour Robert,
:) Bravo! Annie

Excellent Robert! Funny notes to accompany a great closeup. Good vivid colours and detail, well cropped and presented. TFS,
David
PS Many thanks for your comment on Punchbowl I

Robert

this is a great capture! I love how you've cropped this and how colourful he is. How big was this monster? :)
