Hummm,

Where are we?
Well at the suggestion of Mario, (EOSF1) who is a bit tired of seeing snow up here in Canada. By the way, it is actually still snowing , since this morning here ( LOL ! ). But after all, spring is only in two days.....

So, I propose you a souvenir from our last year vacation in Cuba

It was 18:35 hrs. The sun was setting , and we were heading to the lobby bar for a drink with our friends, but I suggested to Martine to have a look at ''our '' tree. Since we got married at the resort back in 2002, they planted a tree for the occasion. Basically it was only a coconut with a leaf of about 45 cms we planted. Well to our surprise, it is growing up quite fast as you can appreciate. Of course we go and have a look at it every year.

We are a bit sad as for the first time we are not going back this year to visit the numerous friends we made at the resort. Budget being too tight as we are saving our economies for a trip to the old continent. At first we were supposed to go this year in September . But we have again to report to 2009 our trip to Europe for the same reason. We have to admit , we find it difficult to skip a year....

Technically: camera on a mini-tripod. Shooting upward , fill-in flash and hoping for the best. I had to crop it after a sensible horizon correction . Therefore it is a bit narrower. But it enhance a bit the height of the tree on the other hand.

For the location of the resort and the tree; see the map (^_^) or visit our previous Cuban travelogues to find more about the place. If you pass by one day , come and see us . There is a part of us remaining there. As you see, it is well identified.

I will be back tomorrow, with comments and critiques.

Cheers!
Martine & Robert

It will be sad not to go this year, but next year - hurrah! And the palm will be even bigger.
Lovely to see the two of you together. Hang in there - spring is just around the corner.

Hallo Robert,

Zu dem Foto, ein für Euch sehr Emotionales Foto. Eine schöne Geschichte.

Alles gute Euch beiden,
Chris
