He could speak a few english words and wanted to sell a few coins ( exchange to other coins from europe with a bit more value ) to me. His coins showed the smiling face of Che Guevara.
It was difficult to speak english for him and he did not smile. Not because he did not know the english words or was very unhappy, but because he had no teeth at all and could not afford to buy a new set at the dentist.... at least that is what I understood. Life in Cuba three years ago ...
[ I did buy his 3 coins so may be he is smiling now ] |

Hoi Frans,
Prachtplaat!
Goed geframed, ragscherp, goeie DOF, goeie kleur, etc.
Ook een leuk verhaal erbij. Je vergeet alleen nog er bij te zetten of je wel of niet iets gekocht hebt van hem. Zo ja, dan kan ik hem gaan fotograferen met alvast 1 tand. :-)
groet,
Joop
He's still smiling, Frans! Even with a closed mouth he's smiling.
The expression in his eyes says everything.
Did you buy the coins? Maybe you have a coin collection too, like me :)

Cool portrait Frans!
An underrated image in my humble opinion. I disagree , we can see his candy , shy but very palpable smile (^_^).
Good work again ,
Have a great weekend !
