I admire your perseverance in working to get so close. This photo appeals to me, but not quite sure why. Perhaps the unusally focusing on just the head/neck of the bird. The texture of the feathers is also really brought out by the blue background.

claude, you tricked me with this one - from the thumbnail, my eyes were seeing an elephant's trunk! this is so lovely against the brilliant blue sky!

i love the texture and colors... it's very well composed, and the blue sky makes the bird almost pop from the photo. very nice.
