As summer is approaching ( we had 30 Degrees Celcius here yesterday ), let me propose you a shot taken last April in Cuba !

Our main activity during our first days at the resort, was simply to take a walk on the beach from time to time to cool off . Often I brought my camera with me off course.

Martine was going alone at times, sometimes she disappeared to the bar for a cool drink to come back later. As she came to later ask me, while I was sunbathing, if I would join her , I noticed the clear blue sky behind her . So I asked her to keep the pose for a quick session ....

Technically . Not much really,Image here is uncropped. Minor selective color correction, to darken a bit more the blue sky. Filtered with Neat Image, framed and titled !

Cheers!
Robert

Meh...I am only having a water....but great shot! I really love that clear, vivid clean blue sky as the background for her. And with her wearing white and red she just pops right out. Excellent framing and composition with a horizontal framing, and her off-center. Her eyes are blue so they echo the colors in the sky. Really good point of view looking up at her, her smiling down, very natural and sincere smile. Excellent use of available lighting, and luckily she was bending down a bit to look at you so the sun did not hit a lot of her face directly, creating a nice diffused lighting effect and making her eyes and features glow. Very crisp and sharp with excellent details and the reflections in those glasses make the shot even more dynamic. I love how both simple and clean but lively this is. Even though it's good to show her arms tapering in at the bottom edge to give the hint that she is leaning her hands on her knees, bending down a bit and looking at you, I find that the slight cropping (or rather the partial inclusion) of her cleavage or breasts is distracting. When you have higher contrasts or objects partially cropped or too close to the bottom edge of a shot they tend to distract from the main focus above (in this case, her face and eyes) so perhaps, cropping barely an inch off the bottom might help to keep the focus and the composition unified. Hope that all made sense :P Really excellent capture and if I were her I would frame that shot and put it somewhere in the house for everyone to see ;) TFS!

Bonjour Robert,
Quelle portrait ensoleillé!
Et quel naturel!
Superbes couleurs et acuité des détails. Tu as su gérer la lumière d'excellente façon. Les reflets dans les lunettes solaires sont un plus. Un hymne au bonheur d'être ên vacances! Bravo au modèle et au photographe! Annie

Hi Robert,

The exposure on this one couldn't be more perfect! The light that time must be really good. Beautiful portrait. Thanks for sharing.

Excellent portrait Robert, avec le contrejour, l'exposition est parfaite. Bravo et merci!

Mario

What a happy shot, Robert - a lovely smile and a well-composed shot. I particularly like the reflections in the sunglasses.

The red/white/blue makes a very vivid and attractive colour combo as well - great shot all round!

Indeed is is the easiest backdrop.
Good and clean.
Nice portrait.
And good reflections onto the beach on the sunglasses.

Tom

Spur of the moment shots, that's what it is all about, Robert! They are wonderful memories to keep. Your holiday activities describe the same actions as ours. Great keepsake shot with a tender and intimate pov.
Cheers
Otto

Excellent and natural portrait. I like the intense colors-red, blue, white-and the light-shadows play.

Andreea
