Back to my excursion with Christina and Frank in the mountains of Mayari. Martine opted to stay at the resort this time. She was not really enthousiast to go on the trails of the country roads . She remembered her experience from the previous year (^_^). For her the day remained sunny , for us we had a mix of about everything in the mountains !

Here we are at the Plantation la Plancha . A small but beautiful State farm pinegrove. After a visit of the pinegrove and botanical garden, we headed for a small shelter to taste the local coffee.

Our host is preparing ‘El café de día’ the traditional way. Made with very dark ( pitch black ) beans growing at the shadows of the massive pine trees. We thought , it would be very strong. We were surprised by the smootheness of its taste.

While the lady was grinding the coffee bean, I tried to capture the mood and movement of the scene. our shelter was a bit precarious. It was now raining heavily outside, the smoke from the fire ( where the water was boiling ) was invading the ceiling. Just as I pressed the button Frank appeared to smell the aroma and watch the grinding. I opted to keep him. it would have been better if he would have moved a bit more (^_^).

Technically: Image uncropped. A slow shutter speed choosen to capture the movement . enhanced the colors a bit. resized, framed and titled.

Have a great day !

Robert

Hello Robert, congratulations for this great shot. Do you like Cuba?

A Wonderful people shot here Robert! I really like the man, peeking into the shot, waiting for his cup! Really nice catch of motion by the lady! And the light coming in throught the slats is really nice!
B-)

Hi Robert,
such an interesting photo. I was looking at the lady working hard for that coffe and then I've notticed the man smelling the aroma with such a great look on his face. Love the way you bound together the old&new elements of an interesting coffe story. Well done!

Have a lovely day!
Ioana

Funny ending in your note - you were kidding of course. She looks pretty determined with the pestle and would not be able to pull back if his head got in the way! I love coffee (the stronger, the better!)
Cheers
Otto

Hi Robert, Very interesting photo and it tells a good story with the movement and the coffee Gourmet leaning forward sniffing the aroma! I bet Cuba would be fasinating! TFS
Cheers, Pat.

Bonsoir Robert :o)
Parfait ! Très intéressante photo de la vie quotidienne des femmes cubaines. Belle présentation originale, j'aime beaucoup :o)

Oh perfect! the two figures here convey the best possible message: the worker/creator and the gourmand together.
(I think my posting is the follow-up to this! A glass of Spanish coffee!!)
