Good morning everybody !

Frans Buitendjik is a very talented member, and a globe-trotter who affectionates Africa very much like my friends Christina & Frank .

He loves portrait and capture people in there daily life on the streets. When he read that we were going back to Cuba , he invited me to capture such portraits of the cuban people, not only beach scenes or landscapes. Well I did try . It is not an easy exercice for a shy man like me (^_^).

Logical suite of yesterday . It was time to taste this wonderful coffee. The lady had a very sweet and unique voice of a jazz singer.

I asked her if I could take a photo of her. Since her teeth were not very attractive , she instinctively took the first empty cup of coffee available to mask her smile. But I liked the mood created.

Again the light was not helping me. We were under the shelter. It was raining outside, it was very dark , so the outside is overexposed. ( Note the slow shutter speed ). I will get back with technical details of the post processing.

I have to go at work now (^_^).

Cheers!
Robert

Great colors Robert and a wonderful portrait.
It is as if you "lifted" the lady off the background....
Very nice work.

Cheers,
Anneke

Salut Robert,
Bravo! Annie

Hi Robert,
Great portrait, very good light. Your capture her gesture very well.
Regards,
Iris

Hi Robert,
the coffe story continues with this great portrait. Love the deep tones and face expresion. Nicely seen and presented!

Kindly regards,
Ioana

The detail is amazing here Robert...I see you have used alot of clarifying, raising the midtones with high pass sharpening and color saturation. Love this effect! You can see every wrinkle! Fabulous!

Bonjour Robert,
Light conditions may have been less then perfect, your capture is in my opinion extremely pleasing.

Salut Robert,
Ivan

Hi Robert,

Her smile is so honest. Is it of the coffee or you photo her? Great detail and lovely composed. Great shot. Like it.

Robert, you show her off wonderfully. Thank you, I like it - I like her,
Janice

Robert,

This is a great portrait- her smile, the colors and the cup at her mouth. I'm sure the coffee must be delicious!
Granted, the overexposed tree in the background detracts.
BTW: I'm having a cup of Senseo right now- it's a Belgian/Dutch system quite popular in Europe. I'm sure it must be in Canada too.
Kind regards,
Randy

The cup, at the end, adds a lot to the photo. Even though it is posed it looks less posed than just a capture of the face would have been. I love the vibrant colours. It gives that island atmosphere.

super perry,

what a portrait.. that is the advantage of going out of the country.. discoveries of mankind... what a beautiful view...

Great capture here Robert...Good colour. Your photo tells a story.. well done my friend..

Greetings from New Zealand.
Dawn.
