Even the birds are macho over there :-).

This peacock was there every morning besides the main buffet restaurant trying to impress the females.

They wouldn't even look at him.

Peafowl
The term peafowl can refer to the two species of bird in the genus Pavo of the pheasant family, Phasianidae. They are best known for the male's extravagant tail, which it displays as part of courtship. The male is called a peacock, the female a peahen. Although commonly used, peacock is an incorrect term to refer to both sexes. The peahen is brown.

The male (peacock) Indian Peafowl has beautiful iridescent blue-green or green coloured plumage. The so-called "tail" of the peacock, also termed the "train", is not the tail quill feathers but highly elongated upper tail coverts. The train feathers have a series of eyes that are best seen when the tail is fanned. Both species have a head crest.

The female (peahen) Indian Peafowl has a mixture of dull green, brown, and grey in her plumage. She lacks the long upper tail coverts of the male but has a crest. Females can also display their plumage to ward off danger to her young or other female competition.

Fabulous. This one looks great with the centered subject.
Not easy to catch the light right, but I'd say you did rather well.
I love the extra bird telling a story.

Hi Pierre - the central positioning of the Peacock is superb and a great moment with the hen walking right in front of him. The picture tells the full story!

He does command the scene, those feathers are superb - but at the same time my eyes are continually drawn to the hen and her nonchalant strut. Amusing image, well done.

Bonsoir Pierre,
Pierre

And your photo too! Lovely colors of a great bird... He is realy gorgeous.

Nice compo... Pitty that white wall wasn't just a little bit higher eh? but the wall also gives a good impression of the atmosphere in Punta Cana.
so, in spite of that wall I realy do like this.

Cheers,
Anneke

Hi Pierre,
Now if that doesn't impress her nothing will!! LOL! Great image with the male showing off to the female who looks so disinterested! Great POV, colours and details! Well done and TFS

A very macho bird indeed, Pierre! And you did a great job capturing the female just as she got the point where she was not blocking any part of the male. Superb PoV, colours and details

Hi Pierre,
Beautiful exhibitionist you've captured here!
The female is either uninterested or playing hard to get.
Boy, it reminds me so much of the machos around here :O (standing and observing).
TFS this amazing photo.
Kind regards,
Lurdes

Hi Pierre,
Very funny and a nice photo ! Colors are superb and timing was perfect. Well done on this. TFS Julie

Piet... Chapeau!!! Soo funny and yet good with excellent PP! Your technique of out of frame is fantastic, but it runs in our family blood, n'est pa *__* ? ! Salut
Jean

Aha. I'm feeling like I'm in Rajasthan part of India. Lovely capture and composition.

You know the funny thing, the male is the who tries to charm the female. TFS

Vandana

Hi Pierre,
I love the composition, framing (with the female stepping out of the picture), and note.
All the best,
Karen

Hi Pierre,
Cool picture. I like how you got two peacocks in the picture. It looks cool because you can see what it looks like when its feathers are closed too. I like the frame. Great colors. TFS
Mandie

Fabulous picture - shame about the people in the background

I love it! No need for that title as that when ever I see a Peacock in full regalia strutting around my mind always thinks of those same words. Although in my imagination he sounds like Pepe Le Pew from the Looney Toons cartoons.

I also love the blue in his breast feathers as well as the eye feathers, it’s wonderful.
